LOCAL COMMUNITY RESOURCES
Vicki received her Masters of Arts in Education with an emphasis in educational administration from Columbia University, Teachers College. Vicki currently focuses her instruction specifically on the study of stress reduction through the practice of mindfulness and specializes in the delivery of Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR). A practitioner of mind-body disciplines for more than 25 years, Vicki is dedicated to sharing the practice of mindfulness with others and guiding them in ways to consciously and systematically work with stress, pain, illness, and the challenges of everyday life. She teaches adult MBSR classes offered quarterly in the beauty of Red Butte Gardens. Vicki has collaborated with University of Utah researchers on projects related to the effectiveness of mindfulness on various populations, and contracts with other organizations as a mindfulness instructor. She is a qualified instructor of MBSR and continues to receive her training through the Center for Mindfulness, housed within the University of Massachusetts Medical School. Vicki also has training in “Mindful Schools,” and “Cool Minds,” two mindfulness curricula designed for children and adolescents. Send inquiries to email@example.com.
Dr. Lin Din specializes in Chinese medicine and has practiced acupuncture and Chinese medicine in the US for 13 years.
Spirit Rock is dedicated to the teachings of the Buddha as presented in the vipassana tradition. The practice of mindful awareness, called Insight Meditation, is at the heart of all the activities at Spirit Rock. We provide silent meditation retreats, as well as classes, trainings, and Dharma study opportunities for new and experienced students from diverse backgrounds with a willingness to develop their own practice.
The Mindful Awareness Research Center is a partner of the Norman Cousins Center for Psychoneuroimmunology within the Jane and Terry Semel Institute for Neuroscience and Human Behavior at UCLA. MARC's mission is to foster mindful awareness across the lifespan through education and research to promote well-being and a more compassionate society.
CCARE investigates methods for cultivating compassion and promoting altruism within individuals and society through rigorous research, scientific collaborations, and academic conferences. (IMC) is a community-based urban meditation center for the practice of Vipassana or Insight meditation guided by Gil Fronsdal and Andrea Fella. We are a non-residential center in Redwood City, California, dedicated to the study and practice of Buddhist teachings.
